I have tried multiple times to fix this and have started from scratch three times, but I eventually run into the same problem (I'm not using 'different even and odd' pages). I have attached a screenshot below - you can see the "Link to Previous" is unavailable. Has happened - I have managed to paste in other texts (with multiple sections) and then create a new section and unlink it without problem. Normally, I can just click "Link to Previous" to unlink, however, this button in greyed out and unavailable. I have now hit a problem where the Header and Footer of the last section (Section 61) is labeled as Same as Previous.
Up until now, I have been creating a new section and then inserting text from another document (each document was created as a separate file, with its own sections, because it is easier to edit a single part of the document). There are plenty of alternative word processing applications on the market that cost money, and import Word documents. I need the pages of some of these sections to be numbered differently. Apples free Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are not Microsoft clones and will not open your Microsoft documents in their native document format, nor export back to Microsoft document formats with original document accuracy.
I am trying to build a very large document with lots of different sections (61 at the moment).
